Art Studio V3

My microphone keeps distortion. Why?

I use a mixture of Apex 435 capacitor connected to a preamplifier compressor ART Studio V3 connected a Tascam US-122L audio interface / midi. The input and output knobs are half way in art. with phase reversal and phantom power. No gain. Vocal in the neutral preset. I do not know why, but I can not seem to eliminate distortion .. When i sing usually about 1 inch near the microphone its fine .... but when I'm stronger than distorts .. as the compressor is not even do anything .. I can not turn back the microphone because the sound is too thin. I have seen videos People in the recording, but they just stay in one place .. even if they go hard or soft. What should I do? What do I need?

You need to turn to enter the ART preamp down so that the clip / limit light never goes into the red. If, despite the distortion, you may is getting into the Tascam interface. Turn off the ART until the Tascam does not distort. Do not use the XLR output of the ART to connect to the XLR input of the Tascam. Use a stereo 1 / 4 inches instead of connecting the two. ART XLR output can be too hot for the XLR input Tascam.
